Intercom systems are, for the most part, a commercial application

for apartment buildings or condominiums, but are becoming more popular in residential homes.

For apartment buildings the systems are now interconnected to the phone system to the individual apartment unit which makes them much more reliable.

In a single family residence an intercom can be useful in larger homes to alleviate raising one’s voice to find an individual or call everyone for dinner.

They are also handy for short conversations without having to go off looking for someone.

These systems can also be integrated with an audio system to allow you to send music to a specific room or all rooms.
